About Crystal Carr
I am blessed to be doing what I always dreamed. I have the privilege of raising my two sons and of capturing moments for my clients through portraiture. I truly love both of these jobs.
My love of photography began when I was in high school. I was part of the yearbook team and was asked to take photos at school games, rallies, and events. I especially loved designing the layouts for the yearbook and moved up to Photo Editor for my junior and senior years.
In college, I studied Fine Art Photography at Cal State Long Beach and earned a BFA. We mostly shot with black and white film and did all our own film developing and print making in the darkroom. My resume includes assisting various wedding and portrait photographers, working at a one-hour photo lab, and selling wide format printers to professional photographers. I also photographed numerous events and businesses in San Diego as part of The Pulse SD team. I was Studio Manager and Photographer to a local boudoir studio, The Boudoir Divas, for three years before my husband and I decided to start our family. We have two sons.
Crystella Photography had it’s soft-opening around 2004 when I was in college and started taking portraits for family and friends. I’ve continued to capture all the lovely faces that make up my life since then. In 2012, Crystella Photography had a Grand Opening.
My clients cherish their families and loved ones. From simple gestures to milestones, they seek to document priceless moments in their lives. They are fun loving. They are life loving. They just love. If this sounds like you, contact me to capture portraiture that you will cherish!
